Hello

Dr. Kate Chen

Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine (DTCM), L.Ac.

With a background in neuroscience and biostatistics, I bring a strong scientific perspective to my work as an acupuncturist. My academic training taught me to evaluate health through research, data analysis, and evidence-based reasoning, which now informs the way I approach patient care. This scientific foundation allows me to thoughtfully integrate modern medical understanding with the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine, helping patients feel confident that their treatments are both grounded in tradition and supported by contemporary research.

I specialize in Traditional Chinese Medicine with a focus on infertility, gynecological health, and facial rejuvenation. Many women seek acupuncture and herbal medicine as a natural way to support hormonal balance, regulate menstrual cycles, improve egg quality, and enhance overall reproductive health. My goal is to provide individualized treatment plans that address each patient’s unique constitution and health history, while supporting them physically and emotionally throughout their fertility journey.
Since 2023, I have had the privilege of training under Dr. Polin Shyu at Nurture Acupuncture. Dr. Shyu has more than twenty years of experience specializing in infertility and reproductive health, and his clinical expertise has greatly influenced my approach to treating complex gynecological conditions. Under his mentorship, I have gained valuable clinical experience in the use of acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, and lifestyle guidance to support patients seeking natural fertility support as well as those undergoing assisted reproductive technologies.

My training enables me to bridge modern research with ancient healing practices. I am particularly interested in the growing body of scientific literature that explores how acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine influence hormonal regulation, blood flow to the reproductive organs, stress reduction, and overall reproductive function. By combining traditional diagnostic methods with a research-informed perspective, I aim to provide treatments that are both holistic and clinically thoughtful.
Outside of my professional work, I enjoy listening to classical music, skiing, and traveling to explore new cultures. Experiencing different traditions and perspectives deepens my appreciation for the diverse ways people approach health and well-being, and it continually inspires my commitment to compassionate and culturally aware care.

Hello

Dr. Phyu Phyu Thin
Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine (DTCM), L.Ac, Dipl. O.M. (NCCAOM)®

Dr. Phyu Phyu Thin's path to becoming a Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) wasn't a straight line. It began in Western medicine, rooted in her childhood desire to become a physician. With an undergraduate degree in biological sciences and years of experience as a pharmacy technician, she learned about the modern healthcare system, patient care, and the life‑saving potential of pharmaceuticals—especially in acute crises.

However, she also noticed the gaps. She saw patients managing various medical conditions with long lists of prescriptions and multiple medical procedures, yet still searching for overall well‑being. That awareness drove her to find a system that holistically treats the whole person, not just a collection of symptoms. Combined with a desire to reconnect with her cultural roots, she pursued Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).

Where Western medicine asks, "Which drug matches this disease?" TCM asks, "Why is this person's system out of balance?" It’s a profound shift in perspective.

Dr. Thin completed her studies at Five Branches University, earning her doctorate in TCM including acupuncture and herbal medicine, with a focus on traumatic injury and orthopedics. To deepen her knowledge, she also completed overseas externships at:

· National Hospital of Traditional Medicine (Vietnam)
· China Medical University (Taiwan)
· Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine (China)

These experiences immersed her in classical approaches and gave her a global perspective on healing.

Today, Dr. Thin's practice integrates all these influences. Her clinical interests include pain management, internal medicine, dermatology, mental health, fertility and women's health.

When Dr. Thin is not in clinic, you can likely find her getting lost in a good TV drama, discovering new music, learning something new, walking in nature, reading fiction, or traveling.
